Seva at Jagannatha temple
 

KAS is taking care of the cleaning of the Jagannatha temple’s Ananda Bazar, the area where thousands and thousands of devotees used to take their food. This service was started in May 2006. 18 employees are engaged in the seva between 6.00 a.m. and 10.00 p.m. The estimated annual cost of the seva is Rs.5,00,000/-.

Drug de-addiction
 

Financial support is being provided on a monthly basis to Sahara – a drug addict treatment center at Bhubaneswar towards food expenses of some of the drug addicts (especially ganja addicts whose treatment generally takes more than a year) who come to Sahara for rehabilitation.

Support to visually handicapped
 

Study materials and equipments are given to the children in the blind school managed by the Orissa Blind Association. For enabling income generation training to 25 girls at a time in the Association building, equipments for bakery training have been supplied.

Though 5000 blind people live in Orissa, as per the estimate of the above Association, they were not able to get books or printing materials in brailley form to empower them with the required knowledge to manage themselves. On boost visually challenged students,"Orissa Association for the  Blind" ,the Board of directors of KAS FOUNDATION  donated  a Brailley Printing Machine at a cost of Rs.3.50 lakhs  which has inaugurated by MP pyari mohan Mahapatra on 21st .jan2008.

Support to Akshaya Patra Foundation
 

KAS has got the opportunity to serve the children of public schools in Puri district by getting associated with the Akshaya Patra Foundation, a professionally managed and well run NGO of ISCON, engaged in providing mid day meals to Government school children . A donation of Rs. 1,00,000/- had been made during the year. The Directors have promised to donate Rs.6.00 lakhs to buy a mobile van to carry the food materials to the schools.

Ambulance Services
 

KAS Foundation , a non profitable organisation established in September 2003 in Puri, has so far provided micro finance assistance of Rs.201 crores to 3,88,550 members of 12310 Self Help Groups and 35504 Joint Liability Groups in all the 30 Districts of Orissa.

KAS Foundation is involving itself in various community development activities including cleaning the entire Ananda Bazaar of the Jagannatha Temple, Puri, donating the first Computer Braille Printing Machine to the Orissa Association for the Blind, maintaining a Creche for 25 Tribal children in Seva Samiti of Ms. Ramba Devi at Haridasspur, Cuttack and rehabilitating the ganja addicts at Bhubaneswar.

KAS Foundation now dedicates Two Ambulance vehicles (Bolero) – One at Jeypore, Koraput District and another at Baripada, Mayurbhanj District. These Ambulances will be at the service of the people at the bottom of the pyramid.

Sri Pyarimohan Mohapatra, Hon’ble MP, has dedicated both the ambulances on the Republic day ie., January 26, 2009.

As suggested by Sri Pyarimohan Mohapatra it has been decided that the tribals with BPL Card will be provided with the Ambulance services at 50% less than the Government stipulated rate, for the tribals without BPL card  it will be available at 20% less rate and for all the other users at 10% less rate.
