Through KAS's microfinance program, financial assistance has been given to potential skilled artisans to purchase raw materials to produce various handicraft items. These artisans and their respective family members are very hard working and skillful. Though they produce beautiful and attractive handicraft items, they do face problems for pricing, packaging and marketing their products. There are many handicraft villages in Orissa. Out of these villages – Raghurajpur is one of the villages which is capable of arranging a handicraft exhibition of national standard. Due to marketing problem, the skill rich artisans are leaving very poor life.
