KAS Foundation started as a Section 25 non profitable private limited MFI in the year 2003 at Jagannatha Puri, Orissa, had grown manifold within a very short period of time. KAS has been working towards its super goal to lead poor to prosperity. It extended its operational area to 5 states i.e. Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Maharastra, West Bengal & Madhy Pradesh. 6,02,000 poor household have been associated with KAS Foundation.

Initially KAS Foundation gave emphasis to form groups in different parts of Orissa both in rural and urban areas to provide them financial services. KAS Foundation is the first MFI who started its operations in all the Districts of Orissa even in the tribal dominated inaccessible Districts.

From 2008-09 onwards KAS Foundation has shifted its focus from micro finance to social develoment activities as a Non Government Organisation. The Foundation is involved in various charitable activities and development projects
